• Cervical smears
• Contraception advice and prescriptions.
• Immunisations

Health Care Assistants

The Health Care Assistants provide the following services:-

• Blood tests
• Blood pressure monitoring
• ECG
• New patient health checks

STRAIGHT2PHYSIO

• If you have joint muscle or spinal pain you can now access NHS physiotherapy without seeing your GP first, through STRAIGHT2PHYSIO, an innovative new venture between local GP practices and the Physiotherapy Department at NMGH.

• A Member of the clerical team will initially take your details. A senior clinician will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your problem, give you appropriate advice, and where necessary book you to come in for a face to face assessment. Most musculoskeletal problems are best managed by physiotherapists and it has been shown that early intervention can stop a problem becoming a long term issue. 

SMOKING CESSATION 

If you want help to quit or reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke you can self refer to the be smoke free service following the link https://www.changegrowlive.org/be-smoke-free/home 

If you need help with the referral form please contact the practice we can refer on your behalf. 

BABY CLINIC

We run a service to offer 8 week checks for newborns and routine vaccinations to babies and young children. This runs every Tuesday morning at the practice.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travelto allow the vaccines to work.
